Why our work matters.

Zero Waste Washington is Washington State’s leader in passing state- and local-level waste management and stewardship policy and advancing the state’s zero waste movement. Through our legislative work, public engagement, on-the-ground projects and research, we are closing the gap between policy change at the local policies and the future health of our planet.

What we do

Zero Waste Washington is Washington State’s leading legislative advocate for state and local waste management and stewardship policy and advancing the state’s zero waste movement. Our ultimate goal is to decrease waste production and promote responsible disposal of waste through a systems change approach to recycling and composting mechanisms by holding government industry accountable to environmentally-sound practices.
