- What we do
Eliminating waste by changing every stage of the waste management lifecycle
What we do
Each year, we work with environmental and community-based organizations, municipalities, and political leaders on both local- and state-level bills to reduce waste and modernize our waste management systems. We promote regenerative practices and infrastructure that give back to or help restore nature versus extract from it.

Policy & Advocacy
We collaborate with leadership at state and local levels to advocate for progressive policies to be enacted at all levels of government. Our legislative work focuses bills and initiatives addressing issues such as preventing waste, improving recycling and composting, increasing producer responsibility, and promoting the right to repair.

Community-based Programs
We facilitate programming that engages communities in zero waste efforts, provides behavior change education, galvanizes support for environmental justice issues, and builds a zero waste movement across the state.

Research
We conduct research to document key waste-related problems. For example, by engaging volunteers in clean-up events, we’re able to identify and count the amount of litter, which helps identify the greatest plastic pollution problems, giving us tools and evidence to pass strong prevention policy. This critical on-the-ground research leads to legislation and other policy solutions.
