You are here:

Eliminating waste by changing every stage of the waste management lifecycle

In case you missed the event or were too busy chatting with your volunteer fixer, here are some helpful resources and a little background about Fix-it Fairs

Fix-it Fairs are made possible by a grant from the Washington Department of Ecology. These grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations (like Zero Waste Washington!) to conduct projects that help the public eliminate or reduce waste.

This is why we collect information on the items you bring in. The more we can fix, the fewer things end up in the landfill and the fewer resources have to be extracted to make new goods.

Extending the useful life of our consumer goods is one of the most effective ways individuals can fight the causes of climate change. By coming to a Fix-it Fair, you’re becoming part of the circular economy!

If you want to get more involved, there are LOTS of options!

You can also find out when and where other repair events are happening (ours or those hosted by other members of the Repair Economy network!). Plus, you can check our interviews with some of the amazing craftspeople across the state who are dedicated to fixing our things!

No Repair Group Near You?

Maybe you should start your own! We created some helpful guides for that…
You can request them here!

But you’re welcome to join our growing fixer and volunteer roster too!
